Peter Jackson’s first event as a trainee was the launch of the Austin Metro to dealers in 1980. He moved agency side in the mid-80’s working in performance improvement at various event agencies before co-founding red e2 in 1999 and destin 8 in 2002.
The two agencies recently merged to become Red Blaze. Peter is joint managing director/owner at the new agency, which works with clients including Samsung, Sky and Virgin Media.
The elevator pitch…
We are a solutions orientated full-service incentive and events agency focussed on assisting clients to achieve their business goals by helping them to engage, communicate and motivate their direct and indirect channels. Simply put…we help our clients to make things happen!
What’s new?
I am interested in how the shape of our industry will change because of the disruption of Covid. Sustainability, diversity, inclusion, identity are all issues that have come to the fore. We also need to think about event design, amongst other things pre-function space and how we use it is becoming as important as the size and shape of any plenary room. We need to understand and embrace the notion of ‘Purposeful Travel’.
Most memorable moment
We once had to charter a 737 at 48 hours’ notice to move a group in British Columbia, because forest fires prevented the planned float plane transfer. Everything worked and the group still had an amazing experience.
Dream incentive
I would love a client to have the time (and money) to explore the South Island of New Zealand.
Sun or snow? Sun
City break or country escape? City break – I love experiencing different cultures. Authenticity is important for me.
The bucket list
I would like to experience the food scene in San Sebastian, Spain which is meant to be amazing. I would love to soak up the atmosphere of Tangier and to revisit Sydney which I was only able to sample for a few days several years ago. Lastly, spending some time exploring the Amalfi coast at a very gentle pace would be amazing.
